Everything I need to know…I learned from my mom.

Okay, not quite everything but a lot of the most important things. I find myself quoting her all the time. It’s the metaphors that stick with me.

On poor leadership: The fish rots from the head.

On making your own experience: Bloom where you’re planted.

On unsatisfying relationships: When you wrestle with pigs you get dirty. The difference is, they like it.

We help companies find and share their meaning and impact through stories, stories that relate to people who have varying degrees of knowledge about who they are, what they do and why it matters.

First, we dig in to understand. Then we make connections. And metaphors (or similes) always help us connect and relate to the meaning, and help others do the same.

Why? Metaphors…

  1. Create a bridge from the unknown to the known
  2. Simplify complex topics
  3. Engage the imagination
  4. Create deeper meaning
  5. Create emotional connections

The next time you’re trying to connect people to an idea, a complex situation or a new product or service, ask yourself what it’s like.

Or call my mom…she will definitely have some good nuggets for you. She’s a gold mine!
