Pride isn’t only a celebration.

It’s also a protest – a fight for the recognition of the humanity of the LGBTQIA2S+* community. A fight that’s been going on for so very long.

Our humanity is the foundation we all share.

One of the things that really drew me to OnPrpose is humanity.

The focus on our customers – and their customers – as people first.

The focus on our team as people first.

It felt almost too good to be true. My default setting had become “Produce more. Don’t rest. Job comes first.” Could I really be human and be good at my job?

It took several months for me to trust it. And I can’t help but think – if it took me months to remember…trust…believe in my own humanity again… how much effort must go into believing in and defending your humanity in a world in which you’re four times more likely to be the victim of violence? In which you’re subjected to hateful words and actions? In which you’re constantly dehumanized?

Our humanity should – it needs to – come first. Everyone deserves to live their truth. Everyone deserves to be safe. Everyone deserves to grow up.

Happy Pride, y’all.
